You're off to a killer start, Harry! I'm quite partial to The Thing, so of course I'm stoked for that, but I'm actually excited for you getting to see the original Halloween for the first time. It's always a bit fraught waiting a long time to see a classic. Do you feel pressure to love it or are you feeling neutral? I'm also feeling very drawn towards In the Mouth of Madness. I've never seen it, but as a huge King fan and just beginning to dive into Lovecraft, I may just have to sneak this into my watch schedule. Said list actually exists on my laptop now instead of just a darkened warehouse in my head.
Super happy you're excited too! It can be a fraught one, but I think in this case I'm not too worried. Slashers are mostly easy work, I find, and Carpenter's never let me down. I think you'll really like In the Mouth Of Madness, it's wacky as can be. Thrilled you've got a written list, I found it nearly impossible without one, and I'm updating mine constantly
The Thing is the greatest and In the Mouth of Madness is an underrated classic. However, looking forward to your thoughts on Halloween and Christine as I have strong feelings on both 👍🏼
I cannot WAIT for you to watch Halloween!! How jealous I am that you get to experience THE slasher for the first time!
I'm going for a clean sweep of first time watches with my Johnuary picks, so we'll both be watching new films! This is gonna be a great month!
Can't wait! Very happy to have you along for the ride! I'm thinking next year I'll do first time watch Johnuary picks👀
Awesome! 👍
Is it bad that ‘Johnuary’ first made me think you were gonna stick an unhinged SUPPLEMENTAL at the end of every post…
😂I made that joke to Rosie yesterday

Gnarly! Maybe be sure to include JC's musical works within your examinations, though the score to The Thing belongs to Ennio Morricone, of course.
I'll definitely look into it! Thanks Ray! Gnarly indeed!!!
Yessir! Too bad there's not 5 weeks in the month to perhaps include The Fog, which has one of my absolute favorite of his scores.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm considering making this an annual tradition.
Nice, go with your gut.

LOVE The Thing. Jamie's doing a ton of content on it so keep your eye out.
I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts in my articles!! I'm sure I'll have strong thoughts on Christine.
I’m glad you are covering In the Mouth of Madness, that movie doesn’t get talked about enough
It's a great film! I've been meaning to review it even before I started Substack, so I'm happy to have an excuse.
