Introduction - Evil Dead

I'LL SWALLOW YOUR SOUL!

I’ve said it a few times in a few different places on here, but this is the final announcement.

For the next several weeks, to celebrate a true horror hero, to have a seriously great time, and to get watch some Deadites get smashed into thick red paste, we’re watching Evil Fucking Dead!

Also, warning. This is gonna get NASTY. I’m talkin’ Video Nasty.

Evil Dead II (March 1987) is possibly my favourite horror movie. It’s definitely up there. I seriously cannot wait to write about each instalment of the original series, from the nasty grimness of the first film to the ridiculous and wacky finale. It will be a cracking, blood-soaked thrillride of a time. I’ve gone all out, buying discs with bonus content, watching season 1 of Ash V.s Evil Dead (2015), and making a (loose) plan to try and smash through all the new stuff. God knows where I’ll find the time, but best believe I am excited. I’m ready to go pedal to the metal watching brains smear, skin melt and all manner of gnarly shit happen, and I hope you’ll join me for the ride. Oceans of blood await!

Anyway, enough hype for a moment. I need to reiterate something I’ve said already a few weeks ago, and wish calm and peace on Bruce Campbell, who has recently shared a tough diagnosis. Cancer fucking sucks, as we all know. I really want this project to celebrate his personal talent and hard work as well as our own personal enjoyment of the films. With this sentiment in mind, I’d like to hear your favourite Ash moments in the comments of each post. No pressure, but I think it’d be nice. Horror is, first and foremost, a community.
